An innovative new asset-management strategy for the department of education, employment, and training in Victoria, Australia, incorporates a 10-year-forward overview of the physical-resource requirements for all government community colleges and schools. The strategy addresses a deteriorating and out-of-date facility base and provides a high-level framework for future investment and maintenance programs across buildings, land, and educational equipment. It focuses on modernization and increased cost effectiveness as inputs to the state government's budget process.
This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-sixth annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–36, in Boston, MA (USA), in July of 2001.
